I got my limit of White Seabass. Here is one of them! I got all three of my fish on LIVE SQUID!

Mike Murray got his limit too! Here he is pictured with our Jackpot fish! This 45 pounder took a while to get in!

FISH COUNT: 15 Anglers caught 29 White Seabass (up to 45 pounds), 1 Halibut (28 pounder), 4 Lingcod, 95 Rockfish, 10 Sheephead, 53 Ocean Whitefish.

We departed Captain Hook's in Oxnard on time at 10:00 PM. Captain Pat Cavanaugh has been on leave and our Captain for the trip is Ryan Young. Ryan is a great guy and a local up here in Ventura County. We are very pleased to have Ryan as our Captain tonight. Our second for the trip is Captain Shawn Steward also from Ventura County and better known as the Captain of the Excel. What a surprise!

We departed Channel Island Sportfishing Center in Oxnard early at 3:50 AM. We were in a hurry to go catch some White Seabass. The previous day the White Seabass counts were limits on the Island Tak so our expectations were high.

Joe on the Mirage gave us some live squid and we immediately started catching White Seabass. It took us about 20 minutes to catch limits for all. The fish were thick. Here is Captain Steve Kelly hooked up into a White Seabass with a jig.
