It was fun fishing with you again John. When you talk to your brother, tell him you caught your seabass on "shrimp".

Gary's back went out shortly before the trip and he was thinking about cancelling. However he was able to fight the pain and get himself a seabass.

This fish has quite a story! It got wrapped around the anchor line so the deckhand Mike, cut the line and tied it off. When it was time to move, the anchor was carefully raised and the fish was still there! Sorry Gary, this one doesn't count for the jackpot!

The White Seabass fishing had been GREAT for over 2 weeks! We were all hoping that the bite would last long enough for our Mirage charter sponsored by Candy Catchers. Well...the fish were biting, but not full speed. We anchored up at Santa Rosa Island, made some squid, and waited. We started fishing at gray light for no luck.

Tom was the first one to hook up. This was his first white seabass...so guess what he ate??? That's right, THE HEART! Tom didn't flinch as he gobbled it up! Way to go Tom!!!

The next person to hook up was Steve. He got this fish on a white leadhead and 25# test. After a long battle the fish finally lost. Here is Steve with the largest white seabass EVER caught on an SFR charter. WAY TO GO STEVE!!!

Just to get an idea of how big a 60lb seabass is...we put a 15lb schoolie next to it.
