Like always we had a great time fishing with Joe and crew on the Mirage. THANKS guys.

SFR would also like to thank Candy Catchers for the great squid jigs! These things WORK!

We had a great time fishing with Joe and crew on the Mirage. Thanks guys! Also, special thanks to Candy Catchers for sponsoring the trip. Everyone onboard was given a FREE Candy Catchers squid jig, and we raffled off a bunch of cool Candy Catchers gear!

Today we are fishing with Captain Joe Villareal on the Mirage. We departed Port Hueneme on time. We loaded bait and headed out. The fishing at the outer islands has been decent for rockfish but the White Seabass have been a no show recently. Since the White Seabass have been biting locally we decided to fish local. Our first stop was Chinese Harbor to look for some Squid. We looked everywhere but NO SQUID.

We would like to thank our great sponsor Candy Catchers!

Squid or not! We got our White Seabass. Here is one of the fish. We started catching them around 4 AM.

The fish would come in flurries. It was not wide open but we did end up with a decent score. Most of the fish were caught on dropper loops with Sardines.

The fish just keep biting and we hooked up two or three at a time. Here is deckhand Ian holding one on the gaff. Ian is a great deckhand and I enjoy fishing with him.
