Today
we
are
fishing
with
Captain
Joe
Villareal
on
the
Mirage.
We
departed
Port
Hueneme
on
time.
We
loaded
bait
and
headed
out.
The
fishing
at
the
outer
islands
has
been
decent
for
rockfish
but
the
White
Seabass
have
been
a
no
show
recently.
Since
the
White
Seabass
have
been
biting
locally
we
decided
to
fish
local.
Our
first
stop
was
Chinese
Harbor
to
look
for
some
Squid.
We
looked
everywhere
but
NO
SQUID.
We would like to thank our great sponsor Candy Catchers!
Squid or not! We got our White Seabass. Here is one of the fish. We started catching them around 4 AM.

The
fish
would
come
in
flurries.
It
was
not
wide
open
but
we
did
end
up
with
a
decent
score.
Most
of
the
fish
were
caught
on
dropper
loops
with
Sardines.

The
fish
just
keep
biting
and
we
hooked
up
two
or
three
at
a
time.

the

Ian
is
a
great
deckhand
and
I
enjoy
fishing
with
him.
